Lighting has never been my forte and I can never really wrap my head around how it will work until I see it in action. I like to experiment with household items like desk lamps and torches in my figurine photos. Although I'd never really thought about how you could fake sunlight until I stumbled across this image/tutorial.
Basically using some lamps and paper/cardboard you can create your own sunlight. Pretty cool! Check out the video on how this image was made at the link below.

Learn Typography
A nice little website about typography! Has some really good references for all those finer details that you tend to forget. The information is short and too the point and certainly not as boring as your graphic design text books that they try to make you buy in university. (but never use because TLDR;!!)
